I live in a tiny place called Ynyslas (Un-eh-Slas) 8 miles North of the University town of Aberystwyth and 12 miles from Machynlleth the ancient capital of Wales. As Aberystwyth is on the West coast of Wales, driving here can take a while as there are no motorways or dual carriageways. The roads however are 'scenic' with wonderful countryside and some breathtaking views to pass the time! Distances to Aberystwyth in Miles (1 mile = 1.6km) - Aberdeen (468), Birmingham (123), Bristol (125), Cardiff (110), Liverpool (122) and London (234) From Machynlleth area - follow the A487 and turn right at Tre'rddol onto the B4353 signposted Borth and Ynyslas, opposite the Wildfowler Public House. Follow the road through Llancynfelin and turn right at the junction a quarter of a mile past the railway and river crossings. I am 25 metres on the right. From Aberystwyth area - follow the A487 out of Aberystwyth and through Bow Street. Turn left onto the B4353 opposite the Rhydypennau Inn and proceed through Llandre, Glanwern and Borth. Continue past the golf course into Ynyslas and bear left towards the estuary. I am 25 metres on the right. |
