My Story

Hi my name is John Rees and welcome to my blog site. My home is in Sydney Australia. My wife Colleen and I have raised four great children, two Girls and two Boys. They have all grown up and married & gone on to do well in there own careers, each have their own children. Unbelievable we now have eleven grand children ranging from one to seventeen years. The Girls (one from each family) names are:- (get this) Zoe, Chloe, Larissa and Carissa; and the boys Joshua, Josiah, Isaac, Samuel, Reuben, Oliver and the newest Simeon. So one can say we are well blessed.

I have a varied background initially trained in accounting later to go into stock market industry working for a Sydney stockbroker, till the market crashed in the 70’s. I then went into management for 10 years before discovering marketing. From then on I started my own small manufacturing and wholesale business making football souvenirs and other promotional products. That was a lot of fun creating and going into the market place; certainly challenges one’s creative abilities. During these times I honed my skills in face-to-face communications, personality profiles, and public speaking. I have put these skills to work in growing quite large Network Marketing MLM Business’s number over 65,000 members in total. That should put me in the top 1% MLMer’s in Australia. So as you can see this is a snippet of my business background.

I think some may people find me ‘a little bit different’, but I personally don’t see myself like that. I am a ‘First Adopter’. I pioneer when others are not ready or willing take on new ventures and challengers. Although I have some ‘magnificent obsessions’ you see I am a collector of treasures. I am a treasure hunter you could say. My wife and I hunt out old things(she said ‘she has got me’) We have a nice collection old of cameras, probably started when we got involved with photography. Antique furniture, kitchen utensils of all sorts, kerosene lanterns, fans, books from 1800’s, paintings, small oilcans, old biscuit & cookie tins, and the list goes on.Through being involved in health foods, I take an interest in the origin of food and herbs and their uses. Just the other day I learn’t the medicinal benefits of the humble dandelion that grows all around our garden. I thought it was a weed. ‘A weed is a weed until you find a use for it, then it becomes a herb’ someone once said.I am always buying books, books surround me, and they make me feel very intelligent even if I haven’t read them yet.I meet the most interesting people but save those stories for another day. My wife and I have traveled to 17 countries so far. She has been to a few more than me, but I will just count them all together anyway. England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Malaysia, Singapore, Sarawak, New Guinea, New Zealand, Japan, USA and Vanuatu. Australians are great travelers; they always want to see other parts of the world. I am always excited to meet new people and hear their stories; they are like treasures to me.

If you like to be a regular on my site and connect with me you may see my book reviews, business situations that I comment on, perhaps something about the latest movies that come my way, or information about some herb plant I have discovered. Probably people in business and their successes would be my best way to perhaps encourage you and cause blessings to go your way.
