Break in the Weather

Porth Tyn Tywyn, near Llanfaelog, Anglesey coast

The sea was still restless — a heavy grey swell rolling in under thick cloud. I clambered over the rocks to get a better view. It’s a place I often visit and just sit and soak in the scene. But then, for a few minutes, the light broke through near the horizon. Not dramatic in the usual sense, just a quiet, golden opening — like a door left ajar between weather systems.

I didn’t expect it. I just stood there, watching. The wind hadn’t dropped, and the waves were still churning, but for a moment the scene held both weight and warmth. That contrast — the dark and the light — felt honest. As if the sky was showing its full range without trying to impress anyone.
