COASTAL NOTES

Coastal Notes is a collection of quiet photographic observations from the rugged shores of North Wales and the island of Ynys Môn (Anglesey). Living within reach of these ever-changing coastal landscapes, I visit often — walking the beaches, watching the light shift across the sea, and paying attention to the small moments that unfold when you slow down.

This is not dramatic seascape photography in the traditional sense. I don’t seek out perfect waves or chase the sunset. Instead, these images reflect what’s given — weathered stones, tide patterns, shifting skies, and the gentle surprises the sea offers when you’re simply there to notice.

Each photograph is part of a slower, more reflective practice — a way of seeing, rather than being solely focused on capturing that perfectly curated, Instagram-ready moment that so many seem to pursue. Sometimes the sea is calm and glassy; other times, wild and full of movement. The coastline is never quite the same twice, and that’s what keeps me returning.

Coastal Notes is a journal that also holds the occasional reflection or walking note — thoughts gathered at the water’s edge. It’s shaped by curiosity and patience, where photography is less a performance and more a quiet form of attention.

Whether you’re drawn to the landscapes of North Wales, the magic of natural light, or a more mindful approach to image-making, I hope something in these coastal moments speaks to you.
